Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Shane Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edward McLauglin!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLauglin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Walker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McLauglin fails in his attempt to clinch.
McLauglin misses with a looping left.

McLauglin gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Walker prevents a body shot from McLauglin.

Walker breaks the clinch.
McLauglin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Edward McLauglin has been cut.

and Walker counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Some wild striking there from McLauglin.
We've been informed that McLauglin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McLauglin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Walker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McLauglin. That did some damage!
McLauglin misses with a looping right.

Walker finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
McLauglin throws a leg kick that is checked
and Walker counters with an outside leg kick.
McLauglin connects with a solid leg kick.
Walker misses with a low kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Walker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McLauglin instigates a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by McLauglin.
McLauglin presses Walker against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
McLauglin blocks a punch to the side of the head.
McLauglin lands with a light punch inside.
Walker trying to stall but McLauglin improves his position.
McLauglin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Walker avoids it.
McLauglin has a couple of punches blocked by Walker.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McLauglin with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Walker takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McLauglin misses with an uppercut
and Walker counters with a body kick that stops McLauglin in his tracks momentarily.
McLauglin misses with a low kick.
And Walker counters with a quick kick to the body but McLauglin blocks it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walker moves out of range as McLauglin throws a body kick.
Walker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
McLauglin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Walker.
Edward McLauglin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McLauglin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Walker swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Walker connects with the punch.
Walker lands with a nice body kick.
Walker is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from McLauglin.
It looked like Walker wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
McLauglin moves out of range of the body kick.
McLauglin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Walker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Walker throws a big counter combination but McLauglin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

and Walker counters with a head kick that drops McLauglin to the mat! McLauglin scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Walker finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Walker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Walker throws a leg kick but McLauglin checks it.
McLauglin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jab by Walker.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Walker! McLauglin is out on his feet! Walker rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - McLauglin is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! McLauglin is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shane Walker!
A very excited looking Shane Walker made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
