The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maanpohja closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Flarkgaard prevents a body shot from Maanpohja.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maanpohja has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Maanpohja has picked Flarkgaard up - he's going for a ride! Maanpohja dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Flarkgaard wants to improve his position but Maanpohja is controlling well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Flarkgaard connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Maanpohja is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Flarkgaard knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Flarkgaard for a finish.
Flarkgaard is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Maanpohja gets his way!

Flarkgaard is trying to get back to his feet but Maanpohja has full control of the position and if anything, Flarkgaard has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Maanpohja has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Flarkgaard has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maanpohja is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Flarkgaard with him. Flarkgaard is trying to defend but Maanpohja has an arm under the chin now! Flarkgaard grimaces and is forced to tap out!

In his post fight interview, Johannes Maanpohja started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
