Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, William Shimazu!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Schultz is looking to slow Shimazu down with leg kicks.
Schultz misses the shot to the body.
Shimazu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schultz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shimazu avoids a punch combination nicely.

Schultz gets tackled into the cage by Shimazu. Shimazu maintains the clinch.
Schultz lands with a left to the head.
Schultz with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Shimazu trying to land knees to the body.
Shimazu swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A head punch on the inside from Shimazu fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schultz makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Schultz misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Shimazu.
Still in the clinch, Shimazu scores with a nice short uppercut.
Shimazu working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Schultz lands a good knee to the midsection. Shimazu won't want to take too many of those.
A nice left hand lands by Schultz.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Shimazu.
Schultz scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like William Shimazu has been cut.
Shimazu misses with the head strike.
Schultz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Shimazu has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Schultz makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Schultz lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Shimazu throws a punch but it's blocked by Schultz.
Shimazu misses with a punch on the inside.
Schultz tries to work over Shimazu's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Shimazu swings wildly with an uppercut but Schultz uses good head movement to avoid it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Schultz.
Schultz scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Schultz working some nice short punches in the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Schultz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Shimazu.
Shimazu working aggressively here.

Shimazu misses with the head strike.
Shimazu has a couple of punches blocked by Schultz.

Schultz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shimazu blocks a leg kick.
Shimazu moves out of range of the body kick.
Schultz throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Shimazu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Schultz.
Shimazu on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Schultz throws the kick towards the body but Shimazu avoids it.
Shimazu takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Schultz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shimazu, pushing him back against the cage.
Shimazu throws an elbow but it misses.
Shimazu misses with the head strike.
Shimazu misses with a short punch on the inside.
Schultz has Shimazu pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Shimazu is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Schultz - that's hurt Shimazu badly! Oh, another knee lands and Shimazu is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Shimazu doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Dr Schultz!
After the fight, Dr Schultz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
