Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peta Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peta Castillo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kareem Riggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peta Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggs clinches up with Castillo and pushes him back against the cage.

Riggs breaks the clinch.

Castillo has Riggs up against the cage in a clinch.

Castillo jumps into guard, dragging Riggs to the mat.

Riggs gets to his feet. Castillo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Riggs showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Castillo.

Castillo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Castillo is looking to take a break and control but Riggs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Riggs really is a fat lump.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riggs sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Castillo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Riggs actively working from the bottom here.
Castillo seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Riggs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Castillo pulls his head out easily.
Riggs is trying to maintain the position but Castillo is very close to passing his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Castillo is just content to waste time from the top position. Riggs takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Castillo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Riggs is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Castillo, into his guard.


Riggs stands and steps away. Castillo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Castillo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Riggs's guard.
Riggs keeping moving, preventing Castillo from controlling successfully.
Castillo trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Riggs manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Riggs stands up from Castillo's guard - Riggs perhaps looking for a knockout.
Castillo throws a leg kick which misses Riggs's front leg but catches the back leg as Riggs tries to avoid it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Riggs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Castillo, pushing him back against the cage.

Riggs decides to pull guard.

Castillo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Riggs dives on top into guard.

Castillo wants to stand but Riggs is controlling the position.

Riggs stands up from Castillo's guard - Riggs perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Castillo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Riggs's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kareem Riggs will probably get the nod.
That's time! Riggs's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Riggs clinches up against the cage.
Riggs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Castillo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Riggs has Castillo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Castillo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Castillo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Riggs darts in and clinches Castillo up against the cage.
Riggs is trying to drag Castillo to the mat but Castillo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kareem Riggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Castillo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Riggs clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Castillo trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Riggs tries to escape but Castillo has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Riggs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Riggs manages to reverse the position and now he's in Castillo's guard. Nice work there by Riggs.
Castillo wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Riggs is now in half guard.
Riggs seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Castillo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Castillo pushes Riggs off looking to stand but Riggs dives back in and keeps control.

Castillo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Riggs pulls his head out easily.

Riggs gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Castillo gets a double leg takedown into Riggs's guard.
Castillo stands up out of Riggs's guard for a moment - Riggs manages to land a nice upkick.

Riggs has an active guard here but Castillo has managed to pass into half guard.
Riggs looks like he's trying to stand up.

Riggs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Riggs kicks off Castillo and gets to his feet.
Castillo fails with an attempt to clinch.
As Castillo tries to get set, Riggs tries to push him back and clinch up but Castillo manages to avoid the attempt.
Riggs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Castillo sprawls well. Castillo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Riggs gets slowly back to his feet.
Castillo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Riggs swats away the attempt to clinch by Castillo.
Riggs throws a big counter combination but Castillo scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Castillo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Castillo lands in his opponent's guard.
Riggs keeping moving, preventing Castillo from controlling successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Riggs manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Peta Castillo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Castillo gets tackled into the cage by Riggs. Riggs maintains the clinch.
Riggs tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Castillo smiles and moves away.

Riggs gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Castillo has clasped his hands together around Riggs's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Riggs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Castillo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Castillo stands up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Riggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Castillo trying to control the position from guard on top but Riggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castillo looking to sit in guard and control but Riggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Riggs stands up and waves to Castillo to follow him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Castillo looking to score a takedown here. Riggs is defending well but Castillo drives through and ends up in Riggs's guard.

Castillo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Riggs has his foot on Castillo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Castillo works his way back into a safe position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Castillo wants to control from the top but Riggs keeps moving.
Castillo is looking to pass into half guard but Riggs pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Riggs is in guard.


Riggs decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Castillo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Riggs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Riggs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Castillo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Riggs off and has taken his back!
Castillo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Riggs is trying to stand back up.

Riggs is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Riggs tries to break free.

And that's the end of the fight!
Peta Castillo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Castillo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
