The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonoda throws an off balance right hand
and Barrett counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sonoda thinking.
Barrett throws a low kick, looking for Sonoda's leg but Sonoda calmly moves out of range.
Sonoda misses the jab.
Barrett connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sonoda throws a push kick but Barrett slaps the foot to one side.
Barrett looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Sonoda keeps Barrett at a distance using the push kick.

Sonoda landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
We've been informed that Barrett has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Sonoda throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Sonoda tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Rikiya Sonoda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sonoda doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Crack! Barrett connects with the perfect overhand right and Sonoda falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Barrett!
