Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Bishop Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bishop Jr comes into the arena with The Desolation of Smaug blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Sonny Bishop Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Teddy Dean!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop Jr throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bishop Jr fails to land with a series of punches.
Dean drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bishop Jr defends it well.

Bishop Jr feints and as Dean raises his hands in defense, Bishop Jr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bishop Jr won't allow Dean to sweep him here.
Dean avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bishop Jr postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bishop Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dean looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bishop Jr passes into side control.
Dean tries to buck Bishop Jr off but Bishop Jr is having none of it.
Bishop Jr wants to control but Dean is keeping him busy.

Bishop Jr lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dean down.
Bishop Jr creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dean sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dean is trying to control Bishop Jr's posture but Bishop Jr avoids it.
Dean sneaks back into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dean trying to control from the bottom.
Dean is pressing down on Bishop Jr's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Dean escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bishop Jr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bishop Jr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Dean working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bishop Jr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bishop Jr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bishop Jr controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Dean escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bishop Jr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dean has momentary wrist control but Bishop Jr slips an elbow through the middle.
Dean wants to sweep here but Bishop Jr controlling him for the moment.

Dean had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bishop Jr defends it easily.
Bishop Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dean on the ground.
Bishop Jr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dean keeping moving, preventing Bishop Jr from controlling successfully.

Dean looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dean is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bishop Jr is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bishop Jr wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving.

Bishop Jr has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Dean to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bishop Jr is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Dean pulls down on the head and he's put Bishop Jr to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Teddy Dean!
A relieved looking Teddy Dean thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Sonny Bishop Jr had this to say: 'The better man won tonight'.
