Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Average Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carter Martin!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ben Watson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe avoids the body shot from Martin.
Martin throws an overhand right that lands on Joe's shoulder, as Joe tries to avoid the shot.
Joe was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Joe looks to land a left hand but Martin moved out of range nicely.
Martin connects with a leg kick. Joe looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Martin takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've been informed that Martin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Joe throws a series of punches but Martin avoids them all with ease.

Martin tries to bum rush Joe with a series of wild strikes but Joe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Martin feints and then cracks Joe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Joe down.

Joe is trying to drag Martin to the mat but Martin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Martin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Carter Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joe tries to land a front kick but Martin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Martin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Joe connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Martin lands with a kick to the temple. Joe shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Joe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Martin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Martin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Joe looks to land a right hand but Martin moved out of range.

A quick step to the side and Joe tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

No joy there for Martin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe avoids a kick to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Martin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Joe. Joe obviously looking to wear him down.
Joe has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Martin in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Martin lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Joe sprawling to the canvas. Martin follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Joe hang on?

Martin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Joe's head.
Martin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Joe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Joe looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Joe goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Martin's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Martin duly obliges.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It looked like Joe was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Joe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Martin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Martin connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Joe's hands.

Martin throws a series of punches but Joe avoids them all with ease.

Martin throws a left that rocks Joe and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Martin dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Joe regain composure!
Martin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Martin lands a strong strike to the head of Joe. That's dazed him! Martin looking to finish here. Joe is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Martin lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carter Martin!
Carter Martin seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
