Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gideon Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragnar Hjelmslev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hjelmslev's choice of entrance music: I Touch Myself. Gideon Gabriel could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ragnar Hjelmslev's chin.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hjelmslev throws a leg kick that misses.
Gabriel appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Gabriel checks the leg kick.

Gabriel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hjelmslev trying to control but Gabriel postures up.
Gabriel wants to control but Hjelmslev is keeping him busy.
Gabriel throws a strike but Hjelmslev avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Hjelmslev wants to stand and escape but Gabriel is having none of it.
Gabriel wants to pass the guard but Hjelmslev is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gabriel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gabriel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hjelmslev wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hjelmslev.
Gabriel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hjelmslev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hjelmslev lands with an overhand left.
A telegraphed right hand from Hjelmslev misses the target.
Gabriel scores with a nice strike.
Gabriel lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hjelmslev looks to land a right hand but Gabriel moved out of range.
Hjelmslev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gabriel seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ragnar Hjelmslev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gabriel moves out of range of the leg kick from Hjelmslev.
Hjelmslev misses with a straight left.
Hjelmslev digs a good body shot into Gabriel's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gabriel swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hjelmslev.
Gabriel tests Hjelmslev's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Gideon Gabriel has been cut.
Gabriel moves forwards but Hjelmslev connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gabriel shoots for a takedown but Hjelmslev saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gabriel connects with a body shot that sends Hjelmslev's belly button to the back.
Hjelmslev lunges at Gabriel with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gabriel's hand.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
