Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Eichel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roger Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Eichel!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eichel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mclean.
Mclean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Eichel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mclean is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Eichel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mclean, who protects the arm well.
Mclean is looking to regain half guard here but Eichel keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mclean is not content to let Eichel control the position.
Mclean tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Eichel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Eichel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Eichel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Mclean is looking to regain half guard here but Eichel keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eichel is looking to take a break and control but Mclean is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Eichel connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mclean some visible discomfort.
Eichel wants to control but Mclean is keeping him busy.

Mclean is not content to let Eichel control the position.

Eichel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Eichel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mclean is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Eichel has the hooks in. Mclean is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Eichel is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mclean defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

You can see the frustration on Mclean's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Mclean knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eichel on the ground.
Eichel wants to control but Mclean is keeping busy.

Eichel is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mclean is defending well though. Eichel let's go of the attempt for now.
Mclean might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Eichel has the hooks in. Mclean is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

and Mclean counters with a three punch combo that has Eichel backing up. Eichel nods at Mclean to acknowledge the strikes.

Eichel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mclean manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Eichel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mclean's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mclean's back!

Mclean is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Eichel cracks Mclean with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Eichel misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Eichel has hold of Mclean's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mclean manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mclean tries to reverse the position but Eichel maintains control.

Mclean is squirming around, avoiding Eichel's attempts to control the action.

Eichel goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mclean is on top in guard.
Mclean has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Eichel is proving hard to escape from.

Eichel is pulling down on Mclean's head to control his posture.

Eichel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mclean defends well.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I've got Eichel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
