The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guru shoots and misses
and Carlson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Guru looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Guru fails with the takedown.
Carlson scores with a decent looking hook.
Guru tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carlson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Guru steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carlson.
Carlson swats away the attempt to clinch by Guru.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guru is looking to clinch but Carlson is avoiding it.
Carlson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Guru eats them both and turns towards Carlson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Ground Guru has been cut.
Guru shoots in but no luck this time.
Carl Carlson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ground Guru.
Carlson lands a lovely overhand right.

Carlson stuffs the takedown attempt from Guru. Guru gets slowly back to his feet.
An attempted straight right counter from Carlson misses the target.
Guru tries for a takedown but Carlson circles away easily
and Carlson counters with a stiff right hand.
Carlson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Carlson scores with a decent looking hook.
Carl Carlson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carlson catches Guru with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Guru forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
