Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrell Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Rino!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solomon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rino raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Rino throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Solomon counters with a takedown into side control.
Solomon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Solomon fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Rino can't do much from the bottom here.
Rino is trying to improve his position.
Solomon looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rino is avoiding damage well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rino avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Solomon.
Rino manages to work his way to half guard, despite Solomon's best efforts.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rino manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Solomon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rino on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Solomon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rino is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rino has escaped and now he's on top!
Rino wants to control from the top but Solomon keeps moving.

Rino trying to stand up but can't free himself from Solomon's guard.
Rino drops back looking for a leg! Solomon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Solomon manages to kick Rino off! Rino jumps back into Solomon's guard.
Rino stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Solomon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rino trying to control the position from guard on top but Solomon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rino slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rino wants to control but Solomon is keeping him busy.
Rino is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Solomon is trying to escape and Rino transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Solomon is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rino! Very nice indeed!

Henry Rino decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
