Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lavezzi Cavani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howard Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lavezzi Cavani has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lavezzi Cavani seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cavani throws a lazy right hand but Moon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Moon throws a hook but Cavani blocks it.
Moon avoids a kick to the body.
Moon throws a looping overhand right but Cavani ducks down to avoid it.
Moon thows a body kick. Cavani tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Moon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Moon swings for the body but Cavani moves out of range.
Cavani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Moon.
Cavani takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Moon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Cavani uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Moon.
Cavani throws a leg kick but Moon moved away.
Moon swings for the body but Cavani moves out of range.

Cavani definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Cavani throws a solid leg kick but Moon takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Cavani.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lavezzi Cavani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cavani shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Moon is trying to defend but Cavani finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Cavani is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Moon sees it coming and defends easily.
Still in half guard, Cavani seems content to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cavani is looking for a kimura but Moon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cavani to get the leverage.

Moon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cavani is working away from the top position though.
Moon gets full guard.
Cavani wants to control from the top but Moon keeps moving.

Moon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Moon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cavani gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cavani avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cavani controls from within his opponent's guard.

Cavani is pushing down on Moon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Moon is fighting to maintain full guard but Cavani has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cavani is working for a kimura but Moon is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cavani is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Moon defends it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lavezzi Cavani will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

That kick from Moon tenderised Cavani's leg. Cavani is trying to keep his angry face on.
Cavani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Moon moves away.
Moon loads up on a big right hand but Cavani slips the punch.

and Moon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Moon counters with a nice uppercut.
Cavani uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Moon.

Moon throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cavani's head.
Howard Moon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Moon connects with a high kick.
Moon digs a good body shot into Cavani's ribs.
Moon moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Cavani throws a head kick that misses
and Moon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cavani closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Moon's guard.

Moon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cavani defends it easily.
Cavani trying to control the position from guard on top but Moon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Moon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cavani stacks Moon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cavani!
Lavezzi Cavani overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cavani is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Moon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Moon is looking to improve his position but Cavani isn't that keen on the idea.

Cavani jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Moon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Moon and Cavani has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Cavani works to advance to full mount. Moon defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Cavani tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cavani has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moon looking for a triangle here. Cavani is fighting it but it looks tight! Moon pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Cavani is tapping out - this one is all over!
