The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan tries to clinch but Dog is having none of it.
Dog shoots in for a double leg but Chan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dog tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chan defends well and Dog ends up having to push Chan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Chan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Chan loads up on a big right hand but Dog slips the punch.
Dog unleashes a big counter combination but Chan bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Dog fails with a takedown attempt.
Chan seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Johnny Chan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of War Dog.
Dog steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chan.
Dog avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Chan looks to throw the jab but Dog is out of range.
Dog connects with a body shot.
Chan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chan throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Dog tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chan smiles and moves away.
Dog is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Dog counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Chan tries to keep at a distance but Dog has taken the fight into the clinch.

Chan pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Chan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dog's brow.
Chan lands a damaging elbow.
Dog tries to stall but Chan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Dog changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Chan fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dog shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chan sprawls well. Chan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dog gets slowly back to his feet.
Dog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chan pinned against the cage. Chan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chan misses with a straight right.

Dog rushes Chan and presses him up against the cage.

That has opened up War Dog's cut even more.
Dog tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chan smiles and moves away.

Dog dives in for a single leg takedown but Chan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Dog has managed to clinch.
Chan creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dog's defenses.

The cut above War Dog's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at War Dog's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
