The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bob Sappy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Celasquez drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sappy wants to stand and escape but Celasquez is having none of it.

Sappy controls Celasquez momentarily but Celasquez frees himself.
Celasquez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sappy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Celasquez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Celasquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Sappy has wrist control.
Celasquez is pushing down on Sappy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sappy is fighting to maintain full guard but Celasquez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Celasquez is controlling the pace.
Celasquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Celasquez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Celasquez cracks Sappy with a big right hand but Sappy just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Celasquez lands a strong strike to the head of Sappy. That's dazed him! Celasquez looking to finish here. Sappy is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Celasquez lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
