Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Fenili (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Cardoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cardoso has chosen Samba de Janeiro as his entrance music. Gabriel Fenili could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Renato Cardoso's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Renato Cardoso!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fenili feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Fenili takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cardoso is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Fenili looks calm but he's in trouble here. Cardoso gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Fenili is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Cardoso lets go of the hold and Fenili can pop his arm back in it's socket.

After the fight, Renato Cardoso was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
