Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reese Angelos!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angelos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gilliam moves out of range as Angelos throws a body kick.
Gilliam appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Angelos scores with a jab to the body.
Angelos lands with a straight right. Gilliam didn't see that one coming.
An inside leg kick from Angelos misses.
Angelos misses with a hook

and Gilliam counters with a nice double leg into side control. Angelos won't be happy with that.
The strikes coming from Gilliam are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gilliam happy to just control the position for now.
Angelos is looking to reverse the position.

Gilliam scores with a couple of short elbows.

Gilliam slows the pace down.
Gilliam throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Angelos works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Angelos is looking for a sweep. Gilliam is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gilliam thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Angelos's head.
Gilliam working over Angelos with some ground and pound. Angelos looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Gilliam throws a strike but Angelos avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Gilliam connects with a couple of short punches.

Gilliam lands a couple of elbows.

Gilliam with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

We've been hearing that Gilliam has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Gilliam's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Gilliam is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've been informed that Angelos has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gilliam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Angelos throws a leg kick

and Gilliam decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Angelos's guard.
Gilliam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Angelos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gilliam's corner. There ya go! There ya go!


Angelos is rocked!

Angelos is still in real trouble! Can Gilliam finish him?

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devon Gilliam dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Angelos slips a jab from Gilliam.
Angelos slips a straight right by Gilliam.
Angelos drops his hands momentarily. Gilliam doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Angelos staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Angelos doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Devon Gilliam!
The defeated Reese Angelos had this to say: 'This is stupid sport'.
