Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Milne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Rowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Rowen!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowen shoots for a double leg takedown but Milne sprawls well. He's pushed Rowen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Milne feinted with a counter takedown.
Rowen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Milne misses with a looping left.
Milne throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rowen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Milne throws an off balance right hand
and Rowen counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A swing and a miss from Milne.
Rowen is looking for the big counter here.
A head kick misses from Rowen.
Rowen shoots for a double leg takedown but Milne sprawls well. He's pushed Rowen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rowen takes one to the chin there.
Milne could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rowen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Milne.
Milne connects with a single shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rowen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Milne paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Milne cracks Rowen with a right hand to the side of the head.
Milne throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Rowen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Milne attempts a counter takedown but Rowen avoids it well and moves away.
Rowen shoots in for a takedown but Milne shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Rowen closes the distance and clinches.
Milne tries a body shot but Rowen blocks it.

Milne is trying to stall.
Milne is stalling here.
Milne misses with a hook from the clinch.
Milne is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Milne gets underhooks to prevent Rowen's takedown attempt.
Milne's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Rowen jumps into guard, dragging Milne to the mat.
Rowen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Milne throws a strike but Rowen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rowen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Milne is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Milne has control of Rowen's left arm, preventing Rowen from doing any damage.

Rowen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rowen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Milne stuffs the takedown attempt from Rowen. Rowen gets slowly back to his feet.
Milne attempts a counter takedown but Rowen avoids it well and moves away.
Milne slaps away a takedown attempt from Rowen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rowen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rowen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Milne swivels and escapes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Milne throws out a loose jab but Rowen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rowen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rowen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Milne.
Horrible takedown attempt by Rowen or perhaps it was just good defense by Milne, which made it look bad.

Rowen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Milne is out of range.

Milne throws a lazy right hand but Rowen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rowen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Rowen scores with a one two! Milne had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Milne changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Milne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rowen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rowen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Milne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Milne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Milne has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Milne throws an elbow that misses. Rowen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Milne's guard. Nice move by Rowen!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rowen slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Milne.

Milne is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rowen can do to turn this around?
Rowen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Rowen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rowen shoots in and drives through. Milne sprawls well.

Rowen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Milne misses with a short punch on the inside.
Milne is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Milne is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Milne is looking to control Rowen's arms but Rowen gets an underhook and turns him. Now Milne has his back to the cage.

Milne fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rowen sprawls well initially but Milne persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Harry Milne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Milne thows a huge punch but Rowen dodges it nicely.
Harry Milne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Milne is controlling the pace.
Milne wants to free his trapped foot but Rowen is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Milne seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Rowen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Milne is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rowen tries a head kick but it misses.
Rowen darts in trying to clinch

and Milne decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rowen's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Milne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
