Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Grover!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grover wants to clinch.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Grover is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Johnson is defending well.

Grover turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grover trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Johnson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grover stands up and we're back to a striking position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Grover manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grover throws a big elbow that misses.
Grover controls from within his opponent's guard.
Johnson wants to stand up but Grover is controlling him.
Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Grover advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Grover is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Grover sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Grover dominating with strikes here.
Johnson is trying to stand up.
Grover has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Grover scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Johnson?
Grover won't let Johnson get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Grover working for a submission but Johnson is keeping him at bay.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grover is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Johnson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Grover get's back to his feet.

Grover throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Grover is in Johnson's guard.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Grover is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johnson looks winded!
Grover not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Grover wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Grover stands up from Johnson's guard - Grover perhaps looking for a knockout.
Grover fails to land the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Grover closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Johnson's guard.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Grover from controlling successfully.
Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Grover advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Grover is trying to work for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Grover manages to move to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Grover dominated that round.

Grover shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Johnson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Chuck Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grover dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Grover's head and hops out.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Grover keeps it at a distance.

Grover closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Grover misses with the ground and pound.
Johnson is pushing Grover's head away, looking to escape. Grover manages to hold on to the position though.

Grover decides to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grover pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Grover follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Grover is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around?

Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson is in trouble now - Grover has advanced to mount!
Grover lands with some strikes.
Andy Grover overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Johnson wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Grover has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Johnson taps furiously! This one is all over!
