PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jingle Jingle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maurício Aurelio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jingle comes to the cage accompanied by Kay Kyser - Jingle Jangle Jingle. Maurício Aurelio will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

and Aurelio counters with a single leg into guard. Jingle didn't expect that.

Jingle shoots in looking for a takedown but Aurelio manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jingle's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jingle shoots in for a double leg but Aurelio sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Aurelio is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jingle has escaped the position, nice work there.

Aurelio is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jingle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Jingle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Aurelio swings around for an armbar but Jingle sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Aurelio's guard.

Aurelio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jingle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jingle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jingle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Aurelio avoids it really well and circles away.

Jingle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jingle throws a body punch but Aurelio moves out of range.
Aurelio ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jingle moves away.

Jingle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Aurelio's half guard.
Aurelio has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jingle seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jingle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aurelio sees it coming and defends easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Aurelio is looking to cinch up a triangle. Jingle throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Aurelio's body to avoid the submission. Aurelio has instead reached around Jingle's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Aurelio arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
