Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lethal Larry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaye Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Wong.
Larry looks to throw the jab but Wong is out of range.
Larry scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wong doesn't seem bothered though.
Wong bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Larry shoots in and drives through. Wong sprawls well.
Both fighters circling a little - Wong finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Kaye Wong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been hearing reports that Larry has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wong lets loose with a powerful body kick. Larry will feel that in the morning.

It looked like Larry wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Larry takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

A nice leg kick lands there from Wong.
Wong tries to land a front kick but Larry steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wong throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Larry attempts a counter takedown but Wong avoids it well and moves away.

Wong with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Larry to score with a decent uppercut.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wong can do anything to dispel that myth.

Larry is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wong has escaped the position, nice work there.
Larry tries to move to mount but Wong blocks the move with his legs.
Larry moves into full mount!
Wong is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Larry has taken his back.
Wong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Larry is persistently looking for the submission but Wong is defending it well.
Wong is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Larry off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Wong wants to get back to his feet.

Larry is looking for a choke. Wong gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Wong manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wong wants to stand but Larry has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Lethal Larry will probably get the nod.

Donk. Larry catches Wong right on the button with a cross.
Wong leaves Larry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

An attempted straight right counter from Larry misses the target.

Larry swings for the body but Wong moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Larry tries to advance to mount but can't.
Wong gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Wong is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Larry wants to take his opponent's back but Wong doesn't allow it.
Larry is working hard here to advance position.

Larry moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wong has worked his arm free - good work by Wong!

Larry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wong wants to get back to his feet but Larry is dominant here and he's now got Wong's back!

Wong is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
