PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chocolate Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kisuke Urahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al comes to the cage accompanied by Finnish National Anthem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chocolate Al!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kisuke Urahara!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Urahara throws a sloppy head kick
and Al counters with an outside leg kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Al checks a leg kick.
Urahara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Al tries to avoid it but Urahara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Al to the ground. Al escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Al ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Urahara moves away.
Urahara changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Urahara checks the leg kick nicely there.
A countering left hand to the body from Urahara misses.
Al lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A solid leg kick lands there for Al.
We've been told by Al's head coaches at Bjorn's Elite Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Urahara misses the jab.
Urahara throws a quick inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Urahara throws a body punch but Al moves out of range.
Al wants to slow Urahara down by chopping away at his legs.

and Al counters by clinching up.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Al.
Urahara throws a punch but it's blocked by Al.
Urahara blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Urahara is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Al gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Al creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Al swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Urahara tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Al's elbow.
Urahara lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Urahara has a couple of punches blocked by Al.
Al lands a left hand that snaps the head of Urahara backwards.
The referee calls for Urahara to work.
Urahara has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Al after a bit of a struggle.
Urahara misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Al misses with a short punch on the inside.

Urahara throws a punch but it's blocked by Al.

A nice left hand lands by Al.
Al keeps control of Urahara as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Al tries to work over Urahara's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Urahara is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Al is defending well for now.

Urahara lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Urahara is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Al swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Al presses Urahara against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Urahara goes for a takedown attempt but Al pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Al lands a leg kick that knocks Urahara off balance momentarily.
Nice shot lands for Urahara.
Urahara throws a hook but Al avoids it easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Al as he connects with a hook.
A lazy left from Al finds it's target.
Al tries to close the distance and clinch up but Urahara swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chocolate Al dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Al throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Urahara sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Urahara takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Chocolate Al is winning the standup battle so far.
Urahara throws a leg kick
and Al counters with a nice uppercut.
Urahara doesn't manage to clinch there - Al circles away.

Al throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Al lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Al is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Urahara can do to turn this around?

Urahara dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Al. That did some damage!

Urahara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Al circles away quickly and effectively.
Al tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Urahara manages to circle out of the way.
Al fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Urahara.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Al shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Al jabs Urahara to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Al doesn't manage to clinch there - Urahara circles away.
Urahara looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Al wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Al connects with a leg kick. Urahara looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Urahara. Al shrugs it off though.

Al is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Al takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Urahara's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Urahara connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Al takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Urahara pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Al clobbers Urahara with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Chocolate Al seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Urahara avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Urahara pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Al takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Urahara misses with a kick to the body
and Al counters with a low kick, right behind Urahara 's knee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chocolate Al dominated that second round.
That's time! Al's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Al appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Urahara ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

A little feinted left hand from Al on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Al keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Al tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Urahara is able to avoid easily.
Al throws a hook to the side of Urahara's head but Urahara sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Al connects with a solid leg kick.
Jab, jab by Urahara - just one landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Al misses with a hook.

Al gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Urahara passes into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Al works his way to full guard. Good work.

Al is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Urahara controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Al wants to control but Urahara passes easily into half guard.
Al is positioning himself well to prevent Urahara advancing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Al looking for a kimura from the bottom but Urahara passes into side control!

Urahara is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Al is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Urahara wants to control but Al is keeping him busy.
Al is trying to control Urahara's posture but Urahara avoids it.

Al tries to bench press Urahara off him but Urahara keeps the position.
Urahara throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Check out the look on Urahara's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!


Al is rocked!
Al taking punishment in the form of punches.
Oh Al is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Urahara slows the pace down.
Al is trying to work for a sweep but Urahara has mounted him!
Al is wriggling around trying to escape.
Urahara postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Al badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Urahara around the waist but Urahara pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Urahara is the winner by TKO! Urahara jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kisuke Urahara!
Kisuke Urahara managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, Museum of Monsters & Madmen, into his post fight interview.
Chocolate Al was interviewed post fight and said 'I'll go back into isolation for a while and rethink my career path. It's always hard to lose a fight, but this one sucks .'.
