Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Huang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rahkim Abdullah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huang comes to the cage accompanied by Nelly - The Champ. Rahkim Abdullah will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Huang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rahkim Abdullah!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdullah connects with a nice looking jab.
Abdullah tries to score a power double leg takedown but Huang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Abdullah somewhat.
Abdullah connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Huang's hands.
Abdullah fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huang avoids it really well and circles away.

Huang shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Abdullah napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huang advances to mount.
Abdullah regains half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Abdullah is not content to let Huang control the position.
Huang is pressing down on Abdullah's thigh, looking to free his foot. Abdullah is holding on for now.
Huang is keen to just control but Abdullah is a slippery customer.
Abdullah wants to control but Huang is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Huang is just content to waste time from the top position. Abdullah takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Huang forces his way into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Huang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abdullah keeps working.

Huang is trying to work for a kimura but Abdullah is defending well.
Huang tries to pass the half guard into mount. Abdullah knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Abdullah won't allow Huang to pass to mount.
Huang is keen to just control but Abdullah is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Abdullah shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Huang sprawls well. Huang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Abdullah gets slowly back to his feet.
Huang attempts a counter takedown but Abdullah avoids it well and moves away.
Kevin Huang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rahkim Abdullah.

Abdullah shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Huang napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Huang is not content to let Abdullah control the position.

Huang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Abdullah wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Huang is working hard here to advance position.
Abdullah is chipping away with strikes.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Abdullah wants to control but Huang is keeping him busy.
Abdullah wants to take a breather but Huang manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Abdullah.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Huang will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Huang dives in and grabs Abdullah's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abdullah pushes down on Huang's head and hops out.

Abdullah looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Abdullah tries to pass the half guard into mount. Huang knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Abdullah prevents Huang from improving his position.
Abdullah content to control rather than advance.
Huang might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Huang is looking to control Abdullah's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Huang avoid being mounted?

Rahkim Abdullah has got the better of the ground game so far.

Huang is in all sorts of trouble here.
Abdullah has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Abdullah controlling the position easily from mount.
Huang tries to lock up and control but Abdullah gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Abdullah lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Abdullah is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Abdullah breaks from Huang's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Huang is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Abdullah can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Huang is looking to escape.
Huang tries to hold on but Abdullah postures up.
Abdullah pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Abdullah raining down hammerfists from mount.
Abdullah wants to control the pace but Huang is squirming around nicely.
Abdullah lands a big elbow.

Huang working to try and regain half guard.
Abdullah looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Abdullah breaks from Huang's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Abdullah putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Huang tries to reverse the position but Abdullah maintains control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Huang regains half guard.
Abdullah tries to pass to full mount but Huang defends it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rahkim Abdullah showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Huang closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Abdullah shoots and misses

and Huang decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Abdullah's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Huang trying to control from half guard but Abdullah is working away.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Huang fails to land the takedown.
Rahkim Abdullah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abdullah shoots in for a takedown but Huang shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Huang appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Abdullah misses the shot to the body.
Huang goes for a double leg but Abdullah avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Abdullah continues to drive forward.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Abdullah is defended easily by Huang.

Huang goes for a double leg but Abdullah avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Abdullah continues to drive forward.

Abdullah shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Abdullah showed some decent athleticism there.

Huang tries to bench press Abdullah off him but Abdullah keeps the position.
Abdullah looks up at the clock and then as Huang takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Abdullah smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Huang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Abdullah wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Abdullah takes a little break here. Huang wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Abdullah moves into full mount!
Abdullah content just to control the position here.
Abdullah trying to control but Huang is having none of it.

Rahkim Abdullah comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Abdullah has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
