Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Holohan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelson Kawai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holohan comes to the cage accompanied by Come out and Fight. Kelson Kawai has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Patrick Holohan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Patrick Holohan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelson Kawai!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawai misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kawai moves forwards but Holohan connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A head kick by Kawai misses

and Holohan counters with a shoot takedown. Kawai fights it but they end up in guard.
Holohan won't allow Kawai to get back to his feet.

Holohan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Holohan tries to free his leg and advance position but Kawai is retaining full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Holohan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kawai.

We've been hearing reports that Holohan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Holohan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kawai avoids it really well and circles away.
No joy there for Kawai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Holohan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kawai swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kawai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holohan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kawai scores with a head kick. Holohan tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Holohan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kawai as he avoids it easily.

Holohan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Holohan has hold of Kawai's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kawai seems comfortable defending it but Holohan has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kawai is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kawai is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Holohan couldn't care less - he's delighted!
