Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cale Downes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a high kick!
Downes blocks a head kick by Smith.
Downes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Downes drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smith sprawls and moves away.
Smith tries to clinch up but Downes circles away and keeps his distance.
Downes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith throws a front kick that sends Downes stumbling back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Downes is breathing heavily.

Smith wants to free his trapped foot but Downes is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Downes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.

Smith is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Smith reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smith taps out! Nice BJJ there by Downes!
