The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flannery tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Liddel is able to avoid easily.
Liddel shoots in and drives through. Flannery sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Liddel. No joy for Flannery on that attempt.

Desmond Flannery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddel misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Flannery shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Liddel as he jumps to the side.

Flannery feints and as Liddel raises his hands in defense, Flannery changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Liddel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Flannery's guard.

Liddel stands up and waves to Flannery to follow him.
Flannery will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chuck Liddel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Desmond Flannery.
Nice takedown defense from Liddel. No joy for Flannery on that attempt.
Flannery tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Liddel was well out of range. Poor timing from Flannery.
Liddel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Flannery backs up against the cage.

It looks like Desmond Flannery has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Liddel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Flannery shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Liddel counters with a left and a right... And another left! Flannery is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
