PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Levi Chadfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Qui Gon Jinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chadfield comes into the arena with Snoop Dogg La DaDaDa blaring out of the sound system. Jinn has chosen Duel of the Fates as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Levi Chadfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Qui Gon Jinn!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jinn missing with a left hand there. Chadfield was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jinn.
Chadfield misses with a hook. Jinn ducked under it nicely.
Chadfield slips a straight right by Jinn.
Chadfield half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Jinn throws a poor cross that misses

and Chadfield counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jinn!
Chadfield will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jinn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Chadfield is taking a breather. Jinn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jinn won't allow Chadfield to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chadfield is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Chadfield is trying to control the action in half guard but Jinn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Chadfield tries to pass to full mount but Jinn defends it.
Chadfield really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jinn manages to get to full guard.
Chadfield seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jinn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chadfield doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chadfield manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chadfield avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Chadfield is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Chadfield knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jinn on the ground.

Chadfield has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Jinn to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Chadfield is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Jinn pulls down on the head and he's put Chadfield to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Qui Gon Jinn!
After the fight, Qui Gon Jinn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Levi Chadfield was interviewed post fight and said 'It's never a lose, it's a lesson. Most of all, i thank God for the chance to face this opponent.'.
