Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shaka KaSolomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gabriel Dahl!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

KaSolomon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

KaSolomon seems to be working for a kimura but Dahl defends the submission attempt.

Dahl is defending against the submission attempts here by KaSolomon.
Dahl is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dahl is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but KaSolomon pulls his head out easily.

KaSolomon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dahl has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with KaSolomon in particular looking to stall.
Dahl looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dahl is looking to control KaSolomon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dahl avoid being mounted?
KaSolomon is trying to control the action in half guard but Dahl is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dahl looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

KaSolomon wants to work for an arm triangle but Dahl is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
KaSolomon uses his free foot to push down on Dahl's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dahl.

KaSolomon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

KaSolomon swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shaka KaSolomon!
