Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Teemu Tainio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulysseus Xenophobus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xenophobus dodges the punch combination from Tainio.
Tainio with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Xenophobus to score with a decent uppercut.
Xenophobus lands with a right hand.
Tainio on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Xenophobus has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Tainio is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Xenophobus shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tainio eats them both and turns towards Xenophobus to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Tainio moves in looking to clinch but Xenophobus pushes him off.
Xenophobus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tainio moves away.
Xenophobus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tainio.
Tainio connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Xenophobus momentarily.

Tainio seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Xenophobus's corner calls for a 1-2. Xenophobus obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Xenophobus cracks Tainio with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Tainio closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Xenophobus is trying to control Tainio's posture but Tainio avoids it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Xenophobus can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Xenophobus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Xenophobus closes the distance and pushes Tainio back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A right handed body shot lands from Xenophobus.
Tainio jumps guard but Xenophobus stands there with Tainio around his waist. Tainio gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teemu Tainio. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Xenophobus lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tainio or not.

Xenophobus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tainio tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Xenophobus just stands there and leans against the cage.

Xenophobus digs a right hand into Tainio's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Tainio's gas tank.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters circle momentarily. Xenophobus darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Tainio takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Xenophobus connects with a nice cross there... Tainio is looking wobbly and Xenophobus recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Tainio to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Xenophobus jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
