The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPharson lands a head kick. Downes smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
McPharson has Downes up against the cage in a clinch.
McPharson lands a nice knee to the body.
McPharson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

McPharson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Downes is trying to pull guard but McPharson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Downes ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Downes no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McPharson throws a big elbow that misses.

McPharson arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Downes's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nucky McPharson!
Nucky McPharson took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'C'mon mate, I was looking for a fight! I've got the whole of Ireland behind me, there's no way you could face up to us! No way! '.
