The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asik misses with a takedown attempt
and Asik takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Yuseff Asik has been cut.
Nice sprawl there from Ali as Asik shoots in.
Despite the aggression on Ali's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Asik misses with a takedown attempt - Ali sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuseff Asik. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Asik shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ali is trying to defend but Asik finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Asik seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Asik breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Asik tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ali swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Asik switches off momentarily and Ali cracks him with a monster right hand! Asik topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Ali dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Ali!
