Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Vesci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kron Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexandre Vesci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kron Vieira!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vieira decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vieira working over Vesci with some ground and pound. Vesci looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Vesci is trying to maintain the position but Vieira is very close to passing his half guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Vieira working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Vieira looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vesci wants to control but Vieira is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Vieira takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Vieira lands a nice short elbow.

Vesci is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vieira scores with a couple of nice shots.
Vieira perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Vieira has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like Vieira might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Vesci throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vesci shoots for a double leg takedown but Vieira sprawls well. He's pushed Vesci's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Vieira closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vesci to the mat! Vesci manages to get full guard.
Vieira postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Vieira lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Vieira slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vesci has momentary wrist control but Vieira slips an elbow through the middle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Vieira shoots in and bounces Vesci off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vesci can't keep his opponent in guard - Vieira advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kron Vieira showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Vieira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vesci taking a bit of punishment here - Vieira scoring with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vieira has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Vesci is rocked!
Vieira lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Vesci down.
Oh Vesci is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vieira cracks Vesci with a big elbow.
Vieira scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Vesci is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Vieira can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kron Vieira!
