Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erick Clap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Erick Clap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Reggie Wayne!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Clap.
Wayne tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Clap manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Clap was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Wayne.

Wayne has closed the distance and engaged Clap in a clinch.
Clap scores with a nice hook to the head.
Clap struggles to land a body shot inside as Wayne controls his hands.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Clap misses with some punches.
Wayne has a couple of punches blocked by Clap.
Wayne fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
I was talking to Clap's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Clap creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Clap throws an elbow that misses.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Clap blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Wayne lands a good knee to the midsection. Clap won't want to take too many of those.

Clap is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wayne lands a hook to the side of the head.
Clap struggles to land a body shot inside as Wayne controls his hands.
Wayne lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Clap backwards.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wayne lands with a short punch from the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Clap.
Good body shot from Wayne.
Wayne lands a right hand.
Clap's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Wayne lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Clap blocks an uppercut.
Clap has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wayne lands a shot to the body.
Wayne utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Wayne misses with a body punch.

Wayne has Clap pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wayne pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Clap tumbling to the mat - Wayne dives into Clap's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wayne engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Wayne is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wayne slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Wayne must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Clap manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wayne manages to get himself to full guard.

Clap's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Wayne throws his legs up looking for a submission but Clap uses it to pass to side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wayne is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Clap throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wayne is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Clap's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Clap's back!
Wayne is trying to stick to Clap's back but Clap is turning into Wayne. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wayne's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Clap.
Wayne has control of Clap's left arm, preventing Clap from doing any damage.
Clap looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Wayne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clap can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Clap throws an elbow that misses. Wayne uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Clap's guard. Nice move by Wayne!

Clap seems keen to control Wayne's posture.
Clap is trying to control the position but Wayne postures up.
Wayne trying to control but Clap is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reggie Wayne dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Clap punishes Wayne's body with a nice straight punch.
Wayne slips a straight right by Clap.
A jab from Clap finds it's way through Wayne's defenses.

Wayne moves into the clinch.
Clap misses with a punch to the body.
Wayne swings wildly with an uppercut but Clap uses good head movement to avoid it.
Clap lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Clap manages to break the clinch.
Clap circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Clap counter with a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clap avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Clap lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


Wayne is rocked!
Clap ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Wayne out cold! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erick Clap!
During a confident post fight interview, Erick Clap thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
