Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Husky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper has chosen Green Hills of Tyrol as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Konrad Husky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roddy Piper!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Piper. Husky does a little dance to reset his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Piper has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Husky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It seemed like Piper was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Piper moves into the clinch successfully.

Husky lands on the inside with an uppercut.

A nice right hand lands inside from Husky.
Husky tries for a takedown but Piper manages to get underhooks.

Piper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Husky manages to avoid it.
Husky throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Piper throws a body shot but no joy.
Piper looks to throw the jab but Husky is out of range.
Husky half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Piper takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Piper moves out of range as Husky throws a body kick.
Piper uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Husky uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Piper.
Piper fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Husky drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Husky tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Piper manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Piper misses the jab.
Husky shoots in for a takedown but Piper shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Konrad Husky. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Piper throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Husky sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've been hearing reports that Husky has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Husky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Piper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Piper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Piper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Husky might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Piper throws an elbow that misses. Husky uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Piper's guard. Nice move by Husky!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Husky stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Piper just misses with a punch to the body.
Piper doesn't manage to clinch there - Husky circles away.
Husky is looking to counter with a body kick.

Piper takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Piper closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Piper pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Piper enables Husky to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Piper manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Piper wants to sweep here but Husky controlling him for the moment.
Piper is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Roddy Piper will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Piper on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Husky is looking to wear down Piper with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Husky shoots in looking for a takedown. Piper tries to sprawl out of it but Husky keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Piper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Piper lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Husky walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Piper avoids the body shot from Husky.
Piper stuns Husky with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Piper darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Piper is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Piper's corner calls for a 1-2. Piper obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Husky tries to work over Piper's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Piper tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Piper throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Husky blocks it with crossed arms.
Piper using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Husky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Husky.
Husky has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Piper avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Husky pushes Piper back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Piper is breathing heavily.

Husky drops an elbow to the side of Piper's head.
Piper is looking to get back to full guard here but Husky has managed to pass to side control instead.
You can see the frustration on Piper's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Roddy Piper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Piper is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Husky has latched onto it... Big trouble! Husky pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Piper is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Husky!

During a confident post fight interview, Konrad Husky thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Roddy Piper was interviewed post fight and said 'He cheated, and I let him win anyway. My opponent was and remains a bum. Piss off.'.
