Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Richter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Charles Richter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nicholas Walter!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Richter, pushing him back against the cage.

Walter works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Walter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Walter looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Richter can't keep his opponent in guard - Walter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Walter prevents Richter from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Richter wants to get back to full guard.
Richter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Walter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Richter is staying active underneath Walter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Richter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walter on the ground.

Walter is looking for a kimura here.
Walter perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Richter wants to control but Walter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Walter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Richter's head.
Richter's coaches at Skintchicken Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Walter sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Walter throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Walter misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Richter tries to lock up and control but Walter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Richter is squirming around, avoiding Walter's attempts to control the action.

Poor strikes thrown by Walter there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Richter scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nicholas Walter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Walter lands in his opponent's guard.
Richter wants to improve his position but instead Walter has moved into half guard.
Walter lands strikes from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walter decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Richter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Walter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Walter goes for a double leg but Richter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Richter continues to drive forward.
An attempted straight right counter from Richter misses the target.

Walter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Richter's guard.
Walter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Richter pushes Walter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Walter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Walter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Walter looks up at the clock and then as Richter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Walter smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Richter regains half guard there - taking advantage of Walter's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Walter is trying to control the action in half guard but Richter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Walter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Richter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Walter moves into full mount! Richter won't be happy about that!

Walter takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

You can see the frustration on Richter's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Richter is keeping busy.
Nicholas Walter has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
I really don't envy Richter right now.
What can Richter do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Nicholas Walter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Walter has picked Richter up - he's going for a ride! Walter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Richter wants to get back to full guard.

Walter decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Walter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Walter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Richter stuffs the takedown attempt from Walter. Walter gets slowly back to his feet.
Charles Richter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicholas Walter.

Richter appears to be looking for a big counter.
Walter shoots in but Richter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Charles Richter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Walter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Richter is fending him off so far but Walter persists. Nope, Richter circles away and we're back to standing.
Richter swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Walter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Richter lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Walter tries to clinch up but Richter circles away and keeps his distance.

Walter throws a head kick but Richter moves out of range.
Richter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Walter on the side of the head.
Charles Richter is winning the standup battle so far.
Richter lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Richter moves out of range of the body kick from Walter.
Good leg kick by Richter there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Walter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Walter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nicholas Walter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Walter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

I would just about give that final round to Nicholas Walter.
I've got Walter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
