Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seymour Ellenbogen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellenbogen looks to throw the jab but Nelson is out of range.
The fighters circling - Nelson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Ellenbogen.
Nelson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ellenbogen.
Ellenbogen dives in and grabs Nelson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nelson pushes down on Ellenbogen's head and hops out.
Ellenbogen moves in looking to clinch but Nelson pushes him off.
Nelson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nelson throws the left hand but Ellenbogen avoids the punch easily.
Ellenbogen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nelson throws a good cross that connects.
Nelson tries to bum rush Ellenbogen with a series of wild strikes but Ellenbogen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nelson throws a series of punches but Ellenbogen moves out of range.
Ellenbogen wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Nelson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nelson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ellenbogen is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Nelson moves away from the strike by Ellenbogen.
Nelson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ellenbogen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nelson slaps away a takedown attempt from Ellenbogen, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Ellenbogen.
Nelson lunges at Ellenbogen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ellenbogen's hand.
Nelson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ellenbogen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nelson misses with a looping right.
Nelson walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Ellenbogen drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Nelson swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Ellenbogen's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Nelson!
A very excited looking Roy Nelson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
