Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rackham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Gago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Rackham!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Igor Gago!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Gago with that takedown attempt.
Rackham is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Gago.

Gago drives through with a takedown into Rackham's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Gago trying to control but Rackham is working from the bottom.
Gago stays in close to Rackham's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Gago has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gago accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gago is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gago thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gago prevents Rackham from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rackham tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rackham misses the shot to the body.
Rackham throws a head kick that misses.
Rackham plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Igor Gago has been cut.
Gago shoots in and drives through. Rackham sprawls well.
Rackham throws a nice inside leg kick.

A thudding body kick lands there by Rackham!
Gago has his takedown stuffed
and Rackham counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Jack Rackham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Gago.

and Rackham counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Gago is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Gago wants to clinch.
Rackham seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rackham tries to bum rush Gago with a series of wild strikes but Gago uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rackham looks to throw the jab but Gago is out of range.
Gago misses with a takedown attempt - Rackham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rackham is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Gago.
Rackham lands a nice shot that snaps Gago's head back.
Rackham fails to land with a series of punches.

Rackham rushes Gago and presses him up against the cage.
Rackham lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gago backwards.
Gago has had enough of the clinch but Rackham keeps him there for the moment.
Rackham blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gago is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Gago takes an elbow to the forehead.
Rackham misses with a body punch.
Gago on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rackham looking to throw knees to the head but Gago is blocking nicely.
Rackham misses with a hook from the clinch.
Gago will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Rackham up against the cage.
Gago lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A short left from Rackham.
A head punch on the inside from Gago fails to land.
Gago pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Gago throws a head punch that misses.
Rackham lands an elbow inside.

Gago successfully pulls guard.
Rackham wants to control from the top but Gago keeps moving.
Gago working a defensive guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gago lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rackham on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rackham tries to get out of the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gago stays in close to Rackham's body and controls the position.
Gago stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rackham swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gago engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Rackham utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Rackham dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Igor Gago's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gago doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rackham counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Rackham closes the distance and pushes Gago back into the cage.
Rackham lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


That has opened up Igor Gago's cut even more.
Rackham lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Gago successfully pulls guard.
Gago wants to improve his position but instead Rackham has moved into half guard.
Rackham tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Gago regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gago is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Our spies down at at Montreal Elite Gym inform us that Gago has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Rackham would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gago wants to sweep but no luck.
Gago is trying to control the position but Rackham postures up.

Gago is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rackham throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gago's body to avoid the submission. Gago has instead reached around Rackham's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gago arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Igor Gago!

During a confident post fight interview, Igor Gago thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
