Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Webb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Therrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Webb shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Therrien as he jumps to the side.
Therrien with the counter takedown but Webb avoids it easily.
Therrien looks to land a combination but Webb avoids it well.

Webb tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Therrien defends well and Webb ends up having to push Therrien into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Webb looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Therrien is fending him off so far but Webb persists. Nope, Therrien circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Webb changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Therrien tries to avoid it but Webb manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Therrien to the ground. Therrien escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Webb fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Therrien jumps guard and drags Webb to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Therrien is on top in guard.

Therrien is looking to work some ground and pound but Webb has wrist control.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Webb here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Therrien sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Therrien is working for a guillotine from mount but Webb frees his head quite easily.
Therrien manages to capitalize on a mistake by Webb to take his back!
