Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tat Moh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Riccuito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Riccuito has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tat Moh's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tat Moh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Riccuito!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riccuito throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Moh sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Moh misses with a hook. Riccuito ducked under it nicely.

Moh clinches with his opponent.

Moh gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Riccuito regains guard.
Moh wants to pass the guard but Riccuito is keeping the position.
Riccuito is trying to keep Moh in close.
Moh working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moh drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Riccuito dives on top into guard.

Riccuito advances to half guard.

Moh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Moh trying to keep a closed guard but Riccuito is proving a slippery customer.
Riccuito's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Moh has his foot on Riccuito's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riccuito works his way back into a safe position though.
Moh working a defensive guard but Riccuito manages to pass into side control anyway.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moh is looking for a sweep.

Moh can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Moh looks to land a right hand but Riccuito moved out of range.
Riccuito swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Moh looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Moh feints and then cracks Riccuito's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Riccuito down.
Riccuito feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Moh's calf.

Moh takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Tat Moh has been cut.
Moh struggles to land a body shot inside as Riccuito controls his hands.
Moh blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Moh gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Riccuito is trying to control the position but Moh postures up.
Riccuito has momentary wrist control but Moh slips an elbow through the middle.
Riccuito seems keen to control Moh's posture.
Moh trying to control the position from guard on top but Riccuito is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Moh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riccuito swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Moh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Moh wants to control from the top but Riccuito keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Riccuito tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A chopping leg kick lands by Riccuito.
Moh cracks Riccuito with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moh drops down looking for an ankle pick but Riccuito pulls his leg out and moves away.
Riccuito tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Moh manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Moh has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Riccuito.
Moh ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Moh throws a sloppy head kick
and Riccuito counters with a nice low kick that buckles Moh's knee momentarily.
Riccuito checks a leg kick nicely.
Moh takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Riccuito tries to score with a low kick but Moh moves his leg out of the way.
Riccuito scores with a jab. Moh acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Tat Moh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping body kick lands there for Moh.
Mark Riccuito is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Riccuito throws a leg kick which misses Moh's front leg but catches the back leg as Moh tries to avoid it.
Riccuito throws a hook but Moh blocks it.

Riccuito tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Moh scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Moh throws a lazy right hand but Riccuito sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Riccuito throws out a counter right but Moh avoids it with no problem.
Moh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Riccuito scores with a nice right hand.
Moh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Riccuito avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That kick from Moh tenderised Riccuito's leg. Riccuito is trying to keep his angry face on.
Riccuito attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Riccuito lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Riccuito throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Moh goes for a takedown in the clinch but Riccuito prevents it.

Moh turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Moh manages to end up in side control.

Riccuito tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Moh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Tat Moh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The strikes coming from Moh are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Mark Riccuito showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Moh avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Moh half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Moh drives through and clinches with Riccuito against the cage.

Moh shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Moh showed some decent athleticism there.
Moh is stalling here. Riccuito is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Moh seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Riccuito has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

A little jabbing left from Riccuito on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Riccuito has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Moh clinches up against the cage.
Moh misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Moh has Riccuito pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Riccuito manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Riccuito swings wildly with an uppercut but Moh uses good head movement to avoid it.
Riccuito blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Still in the clinch, Riccuito scores with a nice short uppercut.


Tat Moh's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
A right hook to the body lands for Riccuito.
Moh tries to work over Riccuito's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Riccuito lands an elbow inside.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Riccuito just misses with a elbow thrown towards Moh's brow.
Riccuito pushes Moh back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Riccuito lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Moh or not.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Moh misses with a punch to the body.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Riccuito.


Jeez, Tat Moh's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Mark Riccuito seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

After winning the bout, Mark Riccuito thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Tat Moh spoke after the fight, saying 'Defeat is a state of mind - no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality.'.
