And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ichiro Kosugi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kosugi drives through with a takedown into guard.
De Medici keeping moving, preventing Kosugi from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kosugi is looking to work some ground and pound but De Medici has wrist control.
Kosugi is fighting to break De Medici's control of his arms but De Medici is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

My spies in LOD: Gym of the Gods inform me that Kosugi has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

De Medici thuds his right hand into Kosugi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kosugi moves in looking to clinch but De Medici pushes him off.
Kosugi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kosugi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Medici defends it nicely.
Jab, jab by Kosugi - just one landing.

De Medici gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kosugi.
De Medici lands with a light punch inside.
Kosugi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by De Medici after a bit of a struggle.
Illumi De Medici has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ichiro Kosugi.
The referee calls for De Medici to work.

Kosugi has hold of one of De Medici's legs. De Medici is fighting the takedown attempt but Kosugi gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kosugi wants to control from the top but De Medici keeps moving.
Kosugi wants to pass the guard but De Medici is keeping the position.
De Medici has control of Kosugi's left arm, preventing Kosugi from doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kosugi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ichiro Kosugi dominated that round.
That's time! De Medici's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kosugi cracks De Medici with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
De Medici on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
De Medici looking to land some kicks to the body here.
De Medici takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Kosugi feints and as De Medici raises his hands in defense, Kosugi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ichiro Kosugi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kosugi slips nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kosugi wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Medici keeps working.
De Medici trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Kosugi controlling his opponent.
De Medici tries to hold on but Kosugi postures up.
De Medici is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kosugi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kosugi looking to ground and pound but De Medici is blocking nicely.
BOOM! Kosugi connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Kosugi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kosugi unloads with some shots from mount but De Medici bucks and avoids them well.
De Medici is trying to escape the mount.
De Medici wants to control but Kosugi is having none of it.
Kosugi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Kosugi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kosugi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
De Medici can't escape the position.
Kosugi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
De Medici is looking to improve his position but Kosugi isn't that keen on the idea.
De Medici wants to hold on but Kosugi pushes him away.
Kosugi can't control as he wanted to and De Medici manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Kosugi is keen to just control but De Medici is a slippery customer.

Kosugi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. De Medici is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ichiro Kosugi!
A very excited looking Ichiro Kosugi rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
