Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladmir Chekov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Markovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladmir Chekov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexei Markovic!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markovic throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Markovic looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Our spies down at at Main Event Gym inform us that Markovic has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Chekov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Markovic avoids it really well and circles away.
Chekov walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Markovic checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Markovic is looking to clinch but Chekov is avoiding it.

Chekov gets control of Markovic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Chekov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Chekov seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Chekov seems to be looking for submissions.
Markovic is staying active underneath Chekov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Chekov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Chekov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Markovic doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chekov.

Chekov shoots in looking for a takedown but Markovic manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chekov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Markovic replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Chekov blocks it well.

Alexei Markovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chekov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Chekov shoots in looking for a takedown. Markovic tries to sprawl out of it but Chekov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Markovic manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chekov is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Markovic can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Chekov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Markovic to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Markovic shrugs it off.

Chekov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Markovic pinned against the cage. Markovic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

It looks like Alexei Markovic has been cut.
Chekov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chekov has hold of Markovic's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Markovic manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Alexei Markovic's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Chekov has control of Markovic's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Markovic regains control of the situation pretty easily.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chekov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
