PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between John Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes into the arena with Another One Bites the Dust blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banks takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Walker goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Banks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Walker fires out a quick counter leg kick but Banks just manages to avoid it.
Walker misses the body punch
and Banks counters with a nice uppercut.

Banks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Banks pushes off an throws an elbow but Walker leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Walker does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Walker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Walker lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Banks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Walker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Banks has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Banks and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
