The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hefernon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hefernon regains half guard.
Hefernon is looking for a sweep. Brown is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brown scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown is nestled in close to Hefernon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hefernon has hold of Brown's hands but Brown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hefernon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hefernon is looking to improve his position.
Brown working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hefernon tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brown connects with a nice short shot to Hefernon's temple.

Hefernon takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Brown is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Hefernon is hurt! He's hurt bad - Brown fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Hefernon from any more punishment! Congratulations to Brown! Great finish!
