The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

As Barksdale backs off Animai throws a huge counter combo but Barksdale manages to avoid it all.
Animai chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Barksdale can pounce on him.

Barksdale jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Animai connects with the punch.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Barksdale! Animai is out on his feet! Barksdale rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Animai is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Animai is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Avon Barksdale decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
