Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles Martel!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martel throws a lazy right hand but Buckley sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Charles Martel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Buckley gets tackled into the cage by Martel. Martel maintains the clinch.

Martel lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Martel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Martel is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Buckley is looking to control Martel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Buckley avoid being mounted?
Martel is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Buckley is trying to get back to full guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Martel has eaten all the pies!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buckley trying to control but Martel postures up.

Martel trying to mount his opponent but Buckley defends it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Martel misses with a series of wild punches.
Buckley is looking to counter the offense by Martel and move into the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Buckley.
Martel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Buckley.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Buckley is defended easily by Martel.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Winston Buckley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Martel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Martel has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Buckley is proving hard to escape from.
Buckley looking for a sweep. Not yet Buckley, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buckley can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Martel controls the pace.

Martel stays in close to Buckley's body and controls the position.
Martel postures up and lands a big shot to Buckley's brow.
Martel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Buckley's guard.
Martel slows the pace down in half guard.
Martel working Buckley over with strikes.

Martel is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Buckley sees it coming and defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Buckley wants to control but Martel is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Martel with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Martel seems to be working for a kimura but Buckley defends the submission attempt.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Martel is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Buckley's half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles Martel dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Buckley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martel as he avoids it easily.

Martel dives in and scores a takedown into Buckley's guard.
Charles Martel has got the better of the ground game so far.
Buckley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Martel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Martel working some strikes from top position.


Buckley is rocked!
Martel loads up on a big left hand. Buckley felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Martel looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Buckley can't hide his disappointment, as Martel celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Martel!
