Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keiji Kawada has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Nathan Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keiji Kawada!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawada tries to close the distance and clinch but Silver swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Silver darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Silver dips to his left and cracks Kawada with an uppercut!
Kawada is looking to clinch but Silver is avoiding it.
Silver lands a leg kick that knocks Kawada off balance momentarily.
Silver avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kawada bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kawada wants to control for a moment but Silver uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Silver is looking to improve his position.

Kawada is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silver doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kawada.
The fighters are battling for position here. Silver manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kawada stands and throws Silver's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Silver's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Kawada working the ground and pound but Silver is defending the strikes.
Kawada wants to control but Silver is keeping him busy.
Silver is trying to control Kawada's posture but Kawada avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kawada tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kawada has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kawada throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Silver works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Silver gets back to full guard.

Kawada avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
My spies in The Coffee Shop inform me that Kawada has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Silver has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kawada should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Silver has tightened it up now! Kawada should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Nathan Silver!
