Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaka Papa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Parish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kaka Papa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Will Parish!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parish throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Papa on the side of the head.
Parish punishes Papa's body with a nice straight punch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Papa.
Papa takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Papa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Papa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Parish has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Papa shoots in and gets a takedown into Parish's guard.

Parish utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Parish has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Papa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Papa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Papa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parish can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Parish throws a nice looking combination but Papa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Papa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parish as he avoids it easily.

Parish connects with a jab.

and Parish counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kaka Papa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parish fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Papa on the side of the head.
Papa shoots in for a takedown but Parish shows good takedown defense.

Parish has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
No joy there for Parish, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Papa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Papa stands and throws Parish's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Parish dodges the ground and pound from Papa.
You can see the frustration on Parish's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Papa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Parish connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Papa scrambles back to his feet.

A nice side step and Parish releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Papa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Parish counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Parish stuns Papa with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Papa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Parish sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Papa somewhat.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Parish feints a jab promting Papa to slip. Parish then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Papa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Horrible takedown attempt by Papa or perhaps it was just good defense by Parish, which made it look bad.
Parish has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Papa looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Papa with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Parish to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
