Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Motoumba Kalakoda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Motoumba Kalakoda has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Motoumba Kalakoda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alan Dean!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kalakoda.

Dean gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kalakoda throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Dean had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kalakoda defends it easily.
Kalakoda is looking to work some ground and pound but Dean has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dean is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kalakoda defends well.

Kalakoda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kalakoda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kalakoda drops back looking for a leg! Dean is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dean manages to kick Kalakoda off! Kalakoda jumps back into Dean's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kalakoda in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Dean has momentary wrist control but Kalakoda slips an elbow through the middle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kalakoda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kalakoda has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kalakoda throws a strike but Dean rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Kalakoda looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kalakoda looking for a guillotine here but Dean defends easily.

Kalakoda escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dean gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kalakoda working for submissions but it's allowed Dean to get to half guard.

Dean wants to take a breather but Kalakoda is having none of it.
Kalakoda gets back to full guard.
Kalakoda tries to land a sweep but no joy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kalakoda looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dean has picked Kalakoda up and slammed him! Kalakoda can't keep hold of the triangle and Dean manages to pass to side control!

Dean pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Kalakoda tries to hold on but Dean postures up.
Kalakoda sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kalakoda is defending against the submission attempts here by Dean.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Motoumba Kalakoda dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kalakoda closes the distance and clinches up with Dean, looking for a takedown. Kalakoda pushes Dean against the cage but Dean circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kalakoda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dean shoots in for a double leg but Kalakoda sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kalakoda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dean tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kalakoda is in Dean's guard.
Dean is trying to keep Kalakoda in close.
Kalakoda in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dean lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dean looking to sit in guard and control but Kalakoda gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kalakoda will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dean not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kalakoda throws a big elbow that misses.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kalakoda's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dean preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dean controls Kalakoda momentarily but Kalakoda frees himself.
Dean utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kalakoda is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dean can do to turn this around?

Kalakoda throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dean works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kalakoda cracks Dean with a solid left hand.
Motoumba Kalakoda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dean is trying to control the position but Kalakoda postures up.
Kalakoda wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dean avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Kalakoda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dean keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kalakoda has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dean has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kalakoda is proving hard to escape from.
