The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano goes for a double leg but Rodriguez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rodriguez continues to drive forward.
Rodriguez tries to bum rush Luciano with a series of wild strikes but Luciano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A punch combination from Rodriguez misses.
Rodriguez takes the fight into the clinch.
Luciano is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rodriguez pulls him back up using the underhooks.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rodriguez.
Rodriguez lands a takedown into guard.
Rodriguez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Luciano is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rodriguez defends well.
Luciano has a closed guard, preventing Rodriguez from standing up.
Rodriguez scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
