Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yoshio Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamamoto comes into the arena with WORLD ORDER - WORLD ORDER blaring out of the sound system. Souza is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Brazil National Anthem. Yoshio Yamamoto has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshio Yamamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Souza!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Yamamoto.
Yamamoto looks to throw the jab but Souza is out of range.
Souza has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Yamamoto is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Souza throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Yamamoto throws a jab when Souza was well out of range.
Yamamoto gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Yamamoto takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Souza's jab looks to have found its range, popping Yamamoto under the eye.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Souza.
Souza throws a series of punches but Yamamoto avoids them all with ease.
Souza misses with a body shot.
Souza connects with an inside leg kick.
Yamamoto throws a leg kick that misses.
Yamamoto misses with a few strikes there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yamamoto throws a lazy uppercut
and Souza counters with a left to the body.
Yamamoto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Souza looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Souza lands a nice hook to Yamamoto's body. Yamamoto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yamamoto misses with a hook
and Souza counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Souza lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Yamamoto moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Souza decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Souza is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Souza is looking to take a break and control but Yamamoto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Souza is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Souza is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Yamamoto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.
Yamamoto wants to get back to his feet.

Souza trying to pass the guard but Yamamoto defending well.
Yamamoto is trying to stand up here but Souza is controlling him well.

Souza is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Yamamoto is trying to stand up here but Souza is controlling him well.
Souza trying to control from half guard but Yamamoto is working away.
Souza trying to mount his opponent but Yamamoto defends it.

Souza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yamamoto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Souza.

Souza is looking for a kimura but Yamamoto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Souza to get the leverage.

Souza is working for a submission of some sort.
Yamamoto wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Souza wants to work for an arm triangle but Yamamoto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Souza has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Yamamoto defend it? Souza steps over the head and cranks it - Yamamoto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Souza!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Andre Souza!
Andre Souza was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Yoshio Yamamoto spoke after the fight, saying 'Well, sometimes you can't win even when you did your best but... It's what it's and I can't change that fact. Congrats to Tony, he's an excellent fighter. He's gonna have a great career for sure. Enjoy your title. Thanks to my fans for their support & my trainers. I'll be back.'.
