PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kickin Rad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Slevin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rad comes into the arena with Kids Of The K-Hole blaring out of the sound system. Slevin has chosen Metallica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Kickin Rad has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kickin Rad seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kickin Rad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Slevin!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slevin throws a jab but it's blocked by Rad.
Slevin moves out of range as Rad throws a body kick.
Slevin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rad waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Slevin.
Rad moves out of range of the body kick.
Tony Slevin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slevin lands a jab to Rad's midsection.
Slevin misses with a looping left.
An attempted straight right counter from Rad misses the target.
Slevin blocks the body kick.
Slevin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rad doesn't seem bothered though.
Rad avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Slevin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rad. Rad obviously looking to wear him down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rad misses with a head kick.
Slevin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rad lands a head kick. Slevin smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Slevin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rad moves away.
Slevin looks to land a right hand but Rad moved out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slevin connects with a nice looking jab.
Rad avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Slevin scores with a hook to the body. Rad takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rad walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rad misses with a hook. Slevin ducked under it nicely.
Rad throws a jab when Slevin was well out of range.
Slevin cracks a nice hook into Rad's ribs.
Rad is breathing heavily.
Rad defending well as Slevin loads up on a big left hand.
A nice leg kick lands there from Slevin.
Rad rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Slevin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Slevin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rad manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Rad wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Slevin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rad takes a shot right to the bread basket.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A slow jab from Slevin misses its intended target.
Slevin lands with a shot to the body.
Rad takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rad moves out of range of the body kick from Slevin.
Rad swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A leg kick checked by Rad.
That kick from Slevin tenderised Rad's leg. Rad is trying to keep his angry face on.
Tony Slevin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slevin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
The fighters circle momentarily. Slevin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Rad explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Rad avoids the body shot from Slevin.
And Rad counters with a quick kick to the body but Slevin blocks it.
Slevin looks to score with a jab to the body but Rad is just out of range.

Slevin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rad sprawling to the canvas! Rad rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Slevin finish him?!

Rad is rocked!
Slevin lands a nice shot to the body.
Slevin cracks Rad with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Rad tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Slevin pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Rad is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Slevin!
